With over 20 years teaching experience, Jaclyn Tarnoweckyj has always sought out ways to continue learning and improve as a dancer, dance educator, choreographer and adjudicator. Growing up in Toronto, Ontario, Jaclyn trained both intensively in ballet, as well as in the competitive dance circuit, in addition to attending several recognized training programs at The National Ballet of Canada School and The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. While known for her Ballet, Jazz and Lyrical choreography, Jaclyn takes pride in her versatility. Throughout her career she has received extensive training in Ballet, Pas de Duet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Tap and Acrobatics. Jaclyn has had the opportunity to work with many world-renowned choreographers, and has performed and competed throughout Canada. In addition to her dance education, Jaclyn Tarnoweckyj graduated with honours from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson University), where she received a BFA degree in Performance Dance. It was during this time that she truly discovered her passion for teaching dance. Jaclyn has had the opportunity to teach and choreograph for numerous competitive dance studios and intensive workshops, teaching all dance genres, and continues to push herself to stay current in her ability to teach at all age levels. Jaclyn understands the importance and practice of technical and efficient dance training, while instilling personal discipline with the joy of dance and creativity. With her extensive eye for detail, Jaclyn uses it to strengthen technique and develop artistic excellence in her students. Jaclyn is a fully qualified Cecchetti Ballet teacher, at the Associate Diploma Level, and is currently working towards her Advanced 2 and Licentiate level teaching certification. She has also been successfully entering students into Cecchetti exams for the past 15 years at all levels, including the pre-professional exams levels. Jaclyn is happy to be able to share her knowledge to a wide audience as a member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance, the International Association of Dance Adjudicators and Cecchetti Canada. Jaclyn aspires to continue educating young dancers by helping them reach their full potential, while fostering a life-long love for dance.
